At Miesz Mechanical Inc. we use “Flat Rate” pricing instead of hourly labor rates for repairs. This allows us to present the repair cost to you before any work has begun, eliminating “sticker shock” when the job is complete. This “flat rate” pricing structure does away with hourly labor billing that can unfairly change the price if excessive time is needed to do the job correctly.
If a technician is a little slower because they feel the need to double check the work before restoring power, or, they needed to call for tech support, or ran into a difficult situation, should you be expected to pay more? No, I don’t think that’s fair to you.
On the other hand, if I dispatch my most experienced, fastest and highest paid technician, who routinely completes jobs ahead of time, should I charge you less? No, that wouldn’t be fair to me either. With “Flat Rate” pricing, the price remains steady regardless of the time it takes to perform the job.
After all, if someone is getting estimates for something, they usually get a set price for a product or service, that’s “flat rate”.

Air Conditioning Maintenance
Our air conditioning maintenance services help keep your A/C system clean and functioning at maximum efficiency throughout the summer months. This will prevent serious and potentially costly repairs.
Some believe that maintenance is unnecessary. I respectfully disagree.
Here in Florida, we have a very high mold spore count in the air nearly all year long. The air handler is a cold, dark, and damp environment, just perfect for growing things. If you think things aren’t growing in your air handler, I dare you to take a look.
To prove my point, try this experiment. Take a Tupperware bowl, fill it with water, and set it in the back corner of a closet. Let it set a month or two, then check on it. You will be shocked.
A very important part of our maintenance visit is that we wipe down all areas of the air handler that we can get our hands on with disinfecting wipes. Then we spray a sanitizing solution on the evaporator coil (it looks like a car radiator) to kill any growth that may be occurring deep within the coil where we can’t see or reach with the wipes. Finally we drop in some slow dissolving algaecide gel tablets into the main drain pan, just underneath the evaporator coil to prevent anything from growing in that standing water. As the gel tablets slowly dissolve, the product trickles down the condensate drain line and helps to prevent clogs by preventing growth in the drain pipe.
